TEENAGER GRIPE SESSION

Okay I accept it! So, I have a 15 year old son, Andrew that is just going to be the end of me. That's the bottom line. Drew-man has the most beautiful heart and smile for that matter, but really I couldn't ask for a more considerate, gentle, caring, thoughtful (etc.) son. Just as charming and sweet as can be, but when it comes to school . . . boy, oh boy! I mean the issues that can arise just from one itty-bitty part of this kid's life are ridiculous. I just want good grades, is that really too much to ask for. Wow! I sound like my mom . . . scary! Who cares though! This is his future, I just want him to do good for himself. He is so smart, but refuses to apply himself for a long period of time. I can only get these little spurts of effort from him. This makes me even more frustrated because he proves that he can do it, if he is in the mood! On top of everything else, he makes himself ineligible to play sports. So he really misses out. I really wish he would get his head on straight and make better decisions for himself. This is the summer lesson I will be working on for my big beautiful guy.

Oh and don’t get me started on those little teen girls . . . ugh! That is a whole ‘nother post! Well ‘til then . . . thanks for listening, or reading, my little gripe fest. Much appreciated.

THEIR NANI

So with Aidan being born and all the excitement that surrounds his birth I have been able to take a step back and just reflect on my baby mommy days. I mean it has been SO long since I was a mommy of a little baby. I just wanted to talk about how very blessed my boys are (and ME, of course) to have such a wonderful and caring Nani (that's what the boys call my mom). She has been right by my side every step of the way. I mean really, it is pretty ridiculous how much she spoils these boys. But not only materialistically - that's easy. She genuinely enjoys their company and takes time out for my boys. She cancels plans to be with them, she is just always thinking about them and puts them first. She goes to Jonah's games, she meets me for Andrew's Open House nights, she takes them for weekends at a time not because I need somebody to watch them or need a break, just because she loves to be with them and they love to be with her. They are restaurant companions, movie partners, shopping buddies and allies.

My mom has been to see my sister and the baby everyday. Aidan doesn't even realize yet how special his grandma is, but it is going to be beautiful watching their relationship grow into something so amazing. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to meet my mother's mom, but I can't imagine she was any less caring . . . Arm had to get it from somewhere. I am just lucky to get to experience this relationship through my sons!

My three musketeers! Thank you Mom for all that you do for ALL of us!! I LOVE YOU!

I'M AN AUNTIE!

World please welcome . . . AIDAN REYES! That’s right, my nephew was born today! Here are his stats: DOB: 06/17/09 at 6:34 a.m., WEIGHT: 7lbs. 10 oz., HEIGHT: 21.5 inches. CONGRATS to my sister Erica, who is doing wonderfully, and brother-in-law Alfonso on their first baby! I am SO beside myself with Aidan. I was blessed with the opportunity to assist Alfonso in coaching my sister through her LOOOONG labor. She was so great and I am so proud of her! I have never experienced such a thing so to get the opportunity and with my first nephew was absolutely amazing. He was born with a full head of little locks and looks like a mini-Erica! :) That's right he's got the Flores nose. He's too cute! I can't wait to get to know him and for him to get to know me . . . life is sweet today! PROUD AUNTIE I AM!!!!

WORST BLOGGER EVER - UPDATES

Okay - so I AM THE WORST BLOGGER around! Well, give me a break I am just getting started and getting the hang of things. I actually have SO much to share.

First things first:
End of School. The boys finished their 2008-2009 school year last week! Very exciting! Jonah finished like the champ that he is . . . I don't know about this kid. No he is not perfect but damn well close! I really couldn't ask for anything more than he gives. His grades are absolutely fabulous and he has thus far earned himself $100 for his report card from various fans of his. He also received an award for excellence in Math, his favorite subject. Unfortunately, his teacher, Dianne Fenner who was absolutely awesome, will be moving on to another school next year but she has so many wonderful and encouraging things to say about my son, all of which make me even more proud (I really couldn't be more proud!)! I feel so luck to say . . . "THAT'S MY BOY!"

Drew-man also got through this year just fine. He will be attending summer school this year to complete the 3rd part of Algebra, advancing himself to Geometry next year. He is also going to participate in a couple of sports camps. I have big dreams for my big boy, he is SO smart I just wish he knew so! I love this boy to death and trust he is going to be amazing and do amazing things. This is such a tough age. He is doing well and he still as wonderful as always!

Second:
We finally finished this year's baseball season! YAY! The JV Diamond Backs took 2nd place this year! Totally stoked! We had the youngest team in this division and to be very honest at the begining of the season Juan was feeling pretty insecure with his team. They pulled it together and played their little hearts out to earn themselves a trophy! In the City Tournament we took 3rd place! Congrats to Juan and Jonah!

Third:
JONAH MADE ALL STARS!!!!! This is Jonah's first year eligible to participate on the All Star team and he did whatever he had to do get make the team. He set this goal at the begining of the season and all season long talked about making the team. Juan would use it to encourage him and keep him focused, well it worked! We are SO proud of him and more importantly he is so proud of himself! Jonah has grown so much this season it is amamzing to watch him play. He actually plays real ball now. No more laughs, giggles or twirling around on the field for fun, this is the real stuff! Very cool!

Last but not least:
Juan was selected to manage the All Star team . . . with Jonah comes Juan. When we knew Jonah had a chance to make the All Star team and Juan was up for the managing position Juan and I agreed he wouldn't take the job unless Jonah made the team himself. Well he's lucky our boy is such a little ball player! So once Jonah was voted in by all the JV team managers, Juan was happy to take the position! I am THRILLED for both of these guys and what this expierence is going to bring each of them separately and together! MY HUNNY!!! He's the best! :)
